Things to Do in the Historic Perigord

La Millasserie is located in the uplands above the River Dordogne that gives the region its name.

At La Millasserie you can begin the day with a French country breakfast,  take a morning dip in the pool, and then take a walk along miles of picturesque country roads. By car explore  some of the most beautiful countryside  and charming villages in all France including Saint-Leon-sur-Vezere, Urval, Molieres, La Roque-Gageac. The restored old quarters of its larger cities, Sarlat, Périgueux, and  Bergerac, display a thousand years of architecture. Take a trip to the great 11th century of Chateau de Beynac or to any of the more than 1000 chateaux in the region. The region abounds in ancient castles and churches, gardens open to the public, villages that time forgot. All sites in the south of the Perigord are within 30 minutes to an hour drive from La Millasserie. One hour plus to Perigueux  and sites north. The Perigord has a wealth of museums, cultural events, classical and popular music concerts,  and all manner of sports.

The Perigord is known as the cradle of gastronomy, so after a trip to the Lascaux caves, lunch at almost any village bistro for a Perigordine meal, or dine at some of the region's Michelin starred restaurants. S
pend the afternoon wine-tasting in the great wineries of the area or wandering through the many antiques shops that can be found throughout the region, or just come back to La Millasserie  and take the sun on your terrace or by the pool. Have dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants in the region. Dine under the stars next to a rushing stream, sample local produce at a family owned  ferme auberge, enjoy imaginative cuisine at small restaurants hidden deep in the countryside, or have a splendid evening at one of the Dordogne's nine Michelin star restaurants. We will be happy to make reservations for you.
